UN Women Mexico Releases New Toolkit for Positive Masculinity Circles at Tec de Monterrey

In a groundbreaking effort to foster gender equality and prevent gender-based violence, UN Women Mexico and Tecnológico de Monterrey launched the Safe Campus pilot program in March 2023. This initiative is dedicated to raising awareness, building capacity, and strengthening support networks across the university’s student, academic, and administrative communities. 

As part of this commitment, UN Women Mexico is proud to introduce the Positive Masculinities Toolkit—a vital new resource designed to engage men in Mexico as active participants in creating safer, more inclusive environments. Too often, discussions on gender violence frame men solely as perpetrators. This toolkit challenges that perception, inviting men to take on a transformative role by embracing positive change in their personal lives and interactions within university spaces. 

The Positive Masculinities Toolkit provides clear guidance and practical resources for those looking to lead discussions on gender equality. It equips facilitators with the tools to create dialogue spaces where participants can critically examine societal expectations of masculinity, unpack harmful norms, and explore new ways to foster equality. These conversations not only contribute to violence-free environments for women but also offer men an opportunity to reflect on and improve their own well-being.
